Accessories complete an outfit, but in my morning pre-coffee haze, sometimes I don't have the energy to think about what I'm wearing. It's all I can do to find clean jeans and a jacket that hides the unwelcome bulges from two weeks of over-indulgent dinners.
Having a handbag with nice hardware is always helpful in these moments, and lately I've come to be equally grateful for decorated shoes. Boden sells an adorable pair of Embellished Flats that add sparkle to an outfit with a kind of effortless ease.
There's some grousing on the Boden website about the sizing, so read the reviews before choosing your size. They come in navy, pink and silver - all great colors for spring.
In my world, you can never have too many pairs of jeans, and you can never, ever have too many pairs of ballet flats. At $118 a pop, they're the easiest way to complete an outfit.
