A Yellow Handbag Equals Perfect Taste
My new discovery for clothing and accessories is Boden. I found them because of my new favorite blog, Shoafrolic, and now I'm a little obsessed with their wares.
Where else would you find a yellow Sumptuous Leather Handbag? Or, at least, where would you find a yellow handbag you'd actually want to carry? Usually, if it's yellow, or purple, or blue, it's also patent leather or has weird shiny daisy shapes pasted on it (can you tell I've been scarred by years of discount shopping?)
At Boden, the bags are simple and clean, but come in fun colors. No wonder, really. The company description shows an organization full of life, spirit and determination:
"After five burglaries, one office dog, nine Christmas quizzes, twelve nights spent in the warehouse, one consignment of refugees arriving with a clothes delivery, four office moves, quite a few sense of humour failures, a few sackings (but thankfully not many), 2 venture capitalists, 6 awards, about twenty fantastically annoying customers (mostly related to me), a couple of crooks, 520 King Pizzas ("Continental" medium thin crust with extra anchovies for me), a great team spirit, one incredibly tolerant wife, bucket loads of sweat and even more laughs, we're still here!"
How can you not love that? A store owner with a sense of humor, who loves anchovy pizza as much as I do, and has the courage to make a yellow handbag.
