Normally I do not add celebrity information on this blog; however, in the vein of accessories and its importance to the overall look - this HAD to be added. I wasn't aware of this event until I was browsing on Popsugar and saw that they had reported jennifer lopez's recognition by the Accessory Council for the Accessory Council Excellence awards at Cipriahni on Oct. 30th in NYC. Lopez's award reflects how she has affected fashion (accessories in particular) due to her personal style. Others that were recognized include Michael Kors and Tom Ford.

If you ever thought that an accessory was merely an added component, this council shows its importance. Obviously, being the Editor at See Pretty Things and a fashion/jewelry designer, I have learned how much creativity it takes to come up with fabulous pieces that dominate an entire outfit. Having the opportunity to sit down with Carlos Falchi, hear how he created his line and of course to see items being produced - it was inspiring and educational (If you missed this interview click here to go back to the archived entry)! It's nice to know that there is a council that makes accessories their primary focus via education and I look forward to hearing more about their events!
