This past weekend I had the luxury of going to a wedding which was awesome; however, we enjoyed some of the final remnants of Tropical Storm Ernesto which made things lovely. It's always nice to get caught in the rain in your flip flops and to slosh around town. On our train from Manhattan to Long Island I was annoyed that I had not thought to wear my rain boots; however, I must admit that the pair I have were purely bought to serve a need and I did not put sufficient thought into them - thus the basic Black Boots. Since we have our rainy season coming up again, I have noticed that a lot of people put thought into their rain boots. This ranges from polka dots, solid vibrant colors and prints as well. Last season, I found a pair of cowboy style rain boots from Jeffrey Campbell entitled, Mae.
These boots are intended for rain and yet they follow the trend of the successful cowboy boots. They're super cute (side note: I tried them on and they were a bit tight; however, they didn't have the next size at the shoe store so I had to pass them up). These boots can be obtainined online from a variety of sites such as Nordstrom.com, DavidZ.com and more.
What I love the most about these boots is that it looks like a complete outfit as opposed to something that you put on for functional purposes only. I love that it is a mixture of neutrals and that it has this fabulous mosaic design and looks more like a shoe as opposed to a large rubber item. Since falling for these boots in particular I have found lots of other fashionable boots; moreover, there are more styles of the cowboy version which is nice. This boot retails for $49.99. Considering that within the next few weeks we will enjoy rainy portions of Oct. and Nov., I am planning on purchasing mine online. On the chance that I happen to wear them and the weather has become nice again, I won't feel strange wearing my rain gear - it will simply be yet another fashionable move that will generate conversation!
