Embracing the Puffy Shoe

I do so hate to be controversial, but I have to blog about the comfort shoe. How, you might wonder, could something so mundane cause controversy?
Several years ago I injured my left foot. Something completely bizarre occurs when this happens – you feel like an alien, and you realize for the first time in your life that everything you've taken for granted can be snatched away in an instant.
I'm being quite dramatic, but the desire, the need to wear high heels is at the center of the fashion universe. One can quite literally not go to certain events without wearing a heel.
When I got married, I wore a stunning gown with a ballet flat. This was extremely unpopular with my friends who advised me that it was a fashion faux pas. No one, I told them, would ever see my shoes under the layers and layers of skirt.
I wore the flats, had a very comfortable day and evening and have never regretted it.
Zappos.com used to have a section of their store reserved for their comfort shoes. Sadly, I can no longer find it. But it was there that I discovered Onex, an inexpensive comfort shoe which gets me through the summers without being totally embarrassed.
The horridly named "Puffy" shoe is my go-to look. I know, it's no Christian Louboutin, but we can't always be perfect!
