From Newspaper Subscription to Newspaper Jewelry

Everybody seems to be talking about the Apple iPad these days, but I don't know if I'll join the bandwagon just yet. I've actually been contemplating getting the Amazon Kindle before this iPad brouhaha, but had second thoughts since I'm not really an avid e-book reader. Most of magazine and newspaper subscriptions still come through my real mailbox, not my virtual one.
However, I can't deny that I've been feeling more and more guilty knowing that my habit is not exactly environmentally friendly. The only consolation is that I know that paper can be recycled into many other stuff, including newspaper jewelry.
Don't you just love the idea? These items are mostly handmade (and exquisitely made at that), making each piece of jewelry a unique one. They aren't exactly cheap, either. Most bracelets and ear pieces range from $50-100, but more elaborate neck pieces can cost hundreds of dollars. That bracelet on the photo? They are made of beads from rolled newspaper comic strips (hence the color) and costs $79.
