Bags Galore
by Lauren Goldman on February 3, 2010

Kate Moss has reinvented herself again. Now she's a designer with her own line of bags for Longchamp, the famous French leather house. I know there are as many celebrity designers as there are days of the year, but this arrangement made me sit up and take notice.
For one thing, Kate Moss has great taste. Anyone who's ever seen her paparazzi photos knows that she can seriously dress, even when she's running to the corner store. For another, as she recently told the New York Times here, "I know bags, and I always want a bag to be functional and comfortable to hold." Now who can argue with that?
Then there's the collection itself. It's classic and fun. A bag with zebra lining is both beautiful and playful. Travel bags are sturdy and beautifully made - choose from classic tan leather, or a more daring zebra stripe.
Longchamp, which does most of its business in France, could use a facelift, and they chose well in hiring Kate Moss. She's come a long way from her embarrassing antics with Johnny Depp, and she's showing the world she's finally all grown up.
I, for one, will be rooting for her.
