It's All in the Wrist
by Lauren Goldman on January 17, 2010

I love my watch. It was given to me by my husband and is engraved on the back. It goes with everything, is classic and elegant. It is, in a word, me.
The trouble is that I don't always want to be me. Some days I like to imagine I'm the kind of person who would wear the I-look-great-but-cannot-walk-more-than-10-feet shoes you see in fashion magazines with a to-die-for leopard print raincoat and some killer Tom Ford sunglasses. As if.
So I have to settle for fun on a small scale - which is where the Toy Watch comes in. This watch is literally made from plastic (they call it Plasteramic, which I find oddly hilarious) but it has a stainless steel bezel, so it doesn't quite feel the same as those toys that come out of the candy machine. In case you want something with a little more bling, Juicy makes a version and Toy Watch USA has a big selection of different styles and colors.
Best of all, from January 16th to January 23rd, 30% of the sales from ToyWatchUSA will be donated to Doctors Without Borders for Haitian relief. So you get to feel good about yourself and, when someone compliments you on your watch, you get to say, "it's Luxury Plasteramic." Now how often do you get to say that?
