Prada Perfection

When I think of Prada, I think of imitation handbags – usually black – made out of some kind of nylon, with the ubiquitous black Prada triangle on the side.
Occasionally, I also think of the Prada/Miu Miu outlet in Palm Springs where the cheapest thing in the store is most likely a $200 belt. And that's at an outlet store!
Today, though, with the guidance of Matters of Style, a blog I'm fond of, I'm thinking about shoes. Their collection at the moment is particularly stunning.
Take the Peep-toe Slingback. On the Saks Fifth Avenue website it says, "due to popular demand, a customer may order no more than three units of this item every thirty days."
That left me scratching my head. Who exactly is buying multiples of a $650 shoe? Presumably small business owners are buying up the Saks supplies for their boutiques. Even with this logic, who exactly is out shopping in this price range?
I ask myself this often, yet I'm shopping in this price range (window shopping at least). With a shoe this good-looking, it's impossible to look away.
