Adorn Me
by Kimmie on November 10, 2006

First off, Lee Angel's booth was there (I had posted on him in a previous entry), I loved seeing a lot of his items that I had seen and those that I had not seen. I love a lot of his cuffs that he had on his display and finally settled on a sterling silver piece that was only a little over a $100, what a steal. A lot of his pieces are carried at Anthropologie, so I enjoed seeing them in one place and seeing the depth of his creativity.
My favorite from the accessory side was, Helen Ficalora! I have to say that her pieces were a favorite in that people were creating their own necklaces. Each person was able to purchase a chain, decide the type of charm such as an initial, zodiac sign, etc and put it all together. You could choose between gold, silver and bronze. I loved that it was a dainty way of having a charm and the line never seemed to end for this vendor. I would definately take a moment to visit the store which is downtown and create a necklace there. PS - they had pictures of dogs that also had the charms which were super cute as well!
My second favorite of the night, Digby and Iona which had awesome necklaces that had aged keys. Lately, I have been on the hunt for crosses or keys and I wasn't dissapointed by this Brooklyn based company. I did visit the site once I got home and wondered if they had additional keys. Hopefully the fine individuals at this company will share whether they have more information or not on this key situation, and I would promptly get one from them.
I have to say that I enjoyed the goodie bag which had fabulous items (who knew that Danielle Steele had her own perfume) and I loved the lounge that had great drinks. I also had the opportunity to go to Lycra's Denim Bar which had a variety of Jean vendors (7 for all mankind for example) and they had a station to get your jeans hemmed for free - love it! I also loved that there were stations throughout the venue that allowed you to purchase items - it was a lot of fun to stand in line and talk with others about what they got or where they got their outfits - I found a lot of info on exclusive Sample Sales that I hadn't known about it and I will share my finds here and for the clothing items, on Kitten Couture Blog.
Suffice it to say, that this was a lot of fun and for more info, I am sure that you can visit other bloggers that are apart of the Coutorture Fashion Community to learn more! Oh and yes, See Pretty Things has posted its 100th entry yippie - thanks everyone for tuning in!

Loved your recap-just one note, the jewelry designer is Digby & Iona. No affiliation, I just really like their pieces!

It was a little late when I wrote this last night and I wasn't paying attention as close as I normally would but I too love their pieces! I am also excited because Helen of Helen Ficalora emailed me and said that she had crosses in her collection (I did not see this at the show but I am pleased all the same since I want to have some of these in my collection as well).
