The World According to Cork
I come into cork a lot, I drink wine and always sniff the cork stopper. I have a few shoes that I love that have that fabulous cork detail as well. I thought that that would be the extent of my interaction with cork until I learned about the crafty folks at Studio 1 AM. These fabulous bracelets are created from cork blocks by none other than Donna Piacenza. I don't even have to say what you can wear with this - what a great natural piece that always looks perfect regardless of the look you're going for. Apparently cork is a new frontier for great creations that are also earth friendly. It's flexible, water repellant and recyclable (as well as already being recycled). Each bracelet is cut from a block and since Donna is not about waste, the block that was used to create the bracelet is used for storage/display. In addition, each block has a unique number so that you know it's one of a kind. It also take a few weeks to receive your gift since it is made by hand; however, I am sure that the wait is worth it.
