Validating the Power of Accessories

Dress for Success is an organization that makes sure that women who are in lower socio-economic sphers are clothed properly when attending interviews. These women are also provided tools on how to interview and to be able to compete amongst others going for jobs as well. This is a great way to empower women through education and also promoting positive self esteem. Dress for Success in addition to providing suits for interviews, also accepts donations for accessories - jewelry and handbags. Even they understand that these elements reflect your personality and are a nonverbal visual that lets people know more about you. Dress for Success worldwide headquarters are based in NYC with chapters all over the world, this is a great organization and I am glad to see other designers participate.
Within this press release, I found that Edun, Bono's line that supports initiatives that support African Women, has partnered with a Minneapolis
beverage line, Airforce Nutrisoda to sell designer t-shirts from Edun Live under the campaign - Socially Conscious. 100% of these proceeds will go to Dress for Success to support their programs. I love to see various industries coming together to edify the body, mind and soul. In addition, I like to think that as these women learn skills in navigating the business world, they will be able to learn about how to dress and the importance of accessorizing which is a skill in and of itself. Visit Nutrisoda to be apart of this assistance and to continue the effort of accessorizing with style and being businesswomen.Permalink: Validating the Power of Accessories
