You Too Can be Queen For a Day

Did anyone catch the mini series Elizabeth on HBO this summer? I had never heard of Helen Mirren until I saw her in an issue of either W or Bazaar about a month before the show aired. I loved learning about the queen and also seeing Helen in action – she was fabulous! What struck me the most were the costumes and the jewelry. Those who know me know that I love large pieces, cocktail rings, etc. I have always been a fan of Cameos. I think they are extremely luxurious while having the ability to have a funky element to them as well. If you love the typical peach color that's great but if you want some variety then you need to take a look at Extasia which seems to be a great place to get your fill of fabulously royal cameo pieces!
My favorite (and you know that I hate having to choose one) is the one above which includes freshwater pearls within its design (it's official, I am now a pearl lover, you have seen me post a lot of jewelry with pearls and there is no need to deny that my opinions have been swayed), ruby Czech glass beading and I love the bronze effect of this piece. This piece is a part of their fall/holiday collection. So what's in my closet that I would pair this with? Cocktail or Little Black Dress. This is a great way of wearing something monotone and letting this breathtaking piece be the pop factor. I would also wear this with a pin strip suit with a slight flair leg, princess lined jacket that hits above the hip and allows cleavage to show (ie. this has either been paired with a lacy tank or nothing at all). Look fabulous weather you are at the office party, wedding reception, Holiday dinner or just being around town (oh yes I would wear this with jeans). Take a look at the site to see more necklaces, brooches, rings, bracelets and more (PS I LOVE the rings and am thinking that I need to get a little something for me)!
Why else should you visit, the pieces are handmade and the cameos are hand carved. There is something to be said for fine craftsmanship! Whether you love the pieces for their artistic beauty or you have a penchant for something that is unique and done with care, this is the best site that I have seen that has such a variety of cameos and obviously, I had to pass this on to you guys.
